The company was formed in the late 1980’s by Alan Whitewick and Peter Inchley. At that time the company was known as A P Coatings and its main objective was to market Car paints and ancillaries, but with a view to market Industrial Coatings.
A chance meeting in 1990 with Stephen Falder of H Marcel Guest set the scene for marketing Industrial Paints and Powders. The company then changed its name to HMG Coatings (South) Ltd.
Since that time the company has steadily grown, developing and selling paint and powder products throughout Southern England.
This as only been achieved through the enormous support and friendship of HMG Paints in Manchester, in particular the

Furthermore much support has been received from HMG Powder Coatings in Ireland, in the development and sales of Powder Coatings, particularly in the specialist coating market.
